Bureau of Motor Vehicles records are an easy but "powerfully transformational" way to ensure defendants are given a fairer shake in Ohio courtrooms, sponsors testified Tuesday.
The panel adopted an amendment from Rep. Latyna Humphrey (D-Columbus) that further defines biological females by including language referencing an XX chromosome set. The amendment, she said, also defines emergencies to specify that correctional institutions that house women who are menstruating must allow them to shower with hot water daily unless there is an emergency situation.
