Alan Miller, President
Alan has been with Gongwer News Service for more than three decades, joining the company as a reporter after his graduation from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Al, who covered the Michigan Legislature for Gongwer from 1972-1992, has been with Gongwer News Service for more than three decades.

Scott Miller, Vice President
Scott regularly covers the Ohio Senate, and a variety of policy issues, including public utilities, energy and public employee retirement systems, among other issues. A former president of the Ohio Legislative Correspondents Association, he is a graduate of Miami University. He is also responsible for Gongwer subscription and distribution matters.

Kent Cahlander, Editor
A graduate of Ohio State University, Kent became a Gongwer staff writer in 1998. Promoted to the editor position in 2003, he is responsible for assignments, coverage and the content of the Gongwer Ohio Report. He covers a variety of subjects and venues, including the state budget process.

Rachel Buccicone, Staff Writer
An honors graduate of Ohio State University, Rachel joined Gongwer in 2009 from Suburban News Publications, where she covered various beats, including Columbus City Council, as a senior reporter.

Travis Minnear, Staff Writer
Before joining the Gongwer staff, Travis worked as a local government reporter at the Portland (Indiana) Commercial-Review and The Ashland Times-Gazette. He graduated magna cum laude from Ohio State University in 2007, with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Before joining the Gongwer staff, Travis worked as a local government reporter.

Marcus Roth, Staff Writer
Mr. Roth has been a staff writer with Gongwer since 2005. A graduate of the University of Virginia, he has been responsible for coverage of the biennial budget and also covers environmental, agriculture and health issues. Before joining Gongwer, Marcus wrote for the (Lexington, Va.) News-Gazette and published freelance pieces in The Washington Post.
