General Duties:

OPLC is actively seeking a dedicated, professional Director who leads, supports, and grows the  Center’s legislative and administrative advocacy efforts and enhances  its positive brand.

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing an advocacy agenda that protects and   expands the rights of Ohioans living, working, and raising their   families in poverty. The Director also identifies  and cultivates  relationships with community partners, advocates, and  funders and can  draw on these affiliations to advance OPLC’s mission. The Center is  overseen by a Board of Managers.

Policy Director -- Disability Rights Ohio

General Duties:

The Policy Director serves as the organization’s leader in the development and implementation of public policy strategies that advance the rights of people with disabilities. This position works closely with the President and CEO and the Legal Advocacy Director to shape and carry out state and federal public policy initiatives.


The Policy Director plays a key role in educating and informing policymakers and collaborating with Board members, clients, and other stakeholders on issues impacting people with disabilities. This role requires considerable independence, sound judgment, and discretion in developing and communicating policy positions, working collaboratively with partners, and creating training and advocacy materials.

Legislative Fellow 2026-2027 -- Legislative Service Commission

General Duties:

House or Senate Caucus Fellows:  One of the primary responsibilities for most fellows assigned to the House or Senate is to assist members with constituent outreach, including responding to inquiries from district residents when they have a problem or concern. Writing assignments might include press releases, newsletters, speeches, and committee memorandums. Fellows also research issues and perform administrative work.

Nonpartisan LSC Fellows: Fellows assigned to the nonpartisan LSC draft and analyze legislation, including a bill's fiscal effects on state and local government, conduct research to provide answers to legislative inquiries, and staff legislative committees. Depending on their applications, fellows assigned to LSC may work with the Office of Research and Drafting (ORD) and focus more on the “legal” side of legislative services or may be assigned to the Legislative Budget Office (LBO) and focus more on the “budget” side of legislative services. Fellows are assigned many of the same duties as permanent ORD and LBO staff.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree before the program starts. There are no requirements placed on major field of study; all majors are considered. Most successful applicants have a strong academic record, and all have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Media Production Fellow 2026-2027 -- Legislative Service Commission

General Duties:

Media production fellows work as assistant producers at OGT/The Ohio Channel, gaining hands-on experience with both studio and field productions. Assignments include camera operation, control room directing, research, script writing, editing, lighting, videography, and audio and graphics production. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in producing governmental, contract, educational, historical, and art programming, for broadcast and online platforms. In addition to the technical and creative experience, fellows will be able to observe the legislative process as they remotely operate multiple cameras for legislative sessions and committee hearings. Finally, they will participate with all other fellows in program activities such as monthly seminars.

Candidates must, before the program starts, hold a bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in either Mass Media Communications, Journalism (Broadcast or Video & Film), Communication/Communication Arts (Electronic Media, Telecommunications, and Radio/Television), or Media Production. A bachelor’s degree in another area of study will be considered if you have acquired the requisite video production skills.

Director of State Relations, Government Affairs -- The Ohio State University

The Director of State Relations is an integral part of the university’s state relations team.
